Youth Rep 2010

Application Process

Each year the position attracts hundreds of applicants of a very high standard. Every application is reviewed fully by the judging panel throughout the application process, which is overseen by UNYA’s National Vice-President (Youth Representation). The application process is broken into three phases;

Note that this timeline is preliminary at this stage and that applicants will be updated with more precise timetables throughout the selection process.

Phase One: Expressions of Interest invited 14th September – 2nd November

Phase Two: Long Written Applications Invited 2nd November – 29th  November

Phase Three: Interviews invited 15th December

After submitting an online expression of interest, the judging panel selects successful applicants to submit a long written application during October and November. Upon reviewing these full applications, a select group of applicants are invited to sit for an interview with UNYA members in their nearest capital city. These interviews are recorded and sent to the final judging panel, which consists of the five members of the UNYA National Executive and representatives from DFAT. We anticipate being able to announce the successful candidate by early February.

Applicants should be aware that while we appreciate the tremendous effort that goes into your applications, we are unable to provide detailed feedback on your applications at any stage, due to the complex judging arrangements and the volunteer status of the judges. We ask for your understanding on this matter.
