Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to any Australian citizen aged between 15 and 24. However, the successful applicant must not turned 25 whilst in New York (ie the applicant’s birth date must be AFTER the 14/11/1985). Applicants must be available to travel throughout Australia to consult widely with young people from early March 2010 until August 2010 and must also be available to travel to New York City in September 2010 for up to eight weeks. It is recommended that the successful applicant decreases or ceases their study/work load whilst completing these activities.  

The successful applicant should possess a strong knowledge of the United Nations and of international affairs, as well as displaying a strong involvement in youth affairs. No distinctions are made on the basis of race, colour, gender, political outlook, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
